Russian President Vladimir Putin has discovered the hard way that military operations come at great cost. The war has essentially lapsed into a stalemate now, with Russia even losing ground that its troops had managed to gain during the war’s early phases after fierce Ukrainian counterattacks using Western-supplied weapons, mostly from the U.S. Entire Russian units have been decimated, and Putin has already issued a general call-up of reserves and conscripts to refill depleted ranks, though reports now say that the replacement troops are not getting much training or equipment and are being sent forward in a manner suggestive of a belief among the Russian high command that sheer numbers will eventually overwhelm Ukraine.
But Putin isn’t taking any chances that his own country could fall under an invasion, though no one from NATO or Ukraine has any designs on Russian territory, with the exception of expelling Russian forces from the Crimea, which Putin illegally annexed in 2014.
According to a new report, he has ordered the manufacture and deployment of a batch of nuclear-armed Poseidon high-speed drones that are essentially autonomous mini-subs capable of generating massive tidal waves upon detonation — enough to bathe entire coastlines in radiation-tinged seawater.
As reported by the UK’s Daily Mail:
The weapon, which could reportedly cause a 1,640ft tsunami, is alleged to have a unlimited range, although details of its unique 125mph underwater propulsion system have been a closely guarded Russian secret. The development came as a Vladimir Putin loyalist called on state TV for Britain to be ‘demolished from the face of the Earth’ as it prepares to supply Ukraine with Challenger 2 tanks.
Retired general Andrey Gurulev claimed on Rossiya 1 that the deployment of British and German tanks ‘to kill us’ amounts to crossing a red line. He accused the UK of ‘getting cocky’, and warned the country could be wiped off the map without resorting to nuclear weapons…
“We have to remember about London so they don’t try to steal our victory. If it did not exist, there will be victory,” he noted in a threatening tone.
Earlier, Natural News reported on the Russian submarine that was going to be carrying Poseidon nuclear drones.
Belgorod, the modern “doomsday” vessel commissioned by the Russian Navy, is finally home more than three years following the end of construction, the report noted in July.
“It is a modified version of the Oscar II-class guided-cruise missile submarine produced during the Soviet Union-era. The construction of the Belgorod was completed in 2019, with the vessel floated out of the shipyard later that year,” the report added. “After going through sea trials under the secretive Main Directorate of Undersea Research, the submarine was brought to the Russian Navy’s Northern Fleet headquarters on July 8.”
Constructed by Sevmash in the port city of Severodvinsk, the submarine was built under Project 09852 and officially named the K-329 Belgorod. The vessel is the longest in the world and weighs around 30,000 tons. It was designed to hold six Poseidon nuclear torpedoes, each of which are armed with a warhead of up to 100 megatons and have an unlimited range.
In April 2021, we reported that the sub was to be deployed somewhere in the Pacific Ocean, meaning that its drones would be more of a threat to the West Coast than to our nation’s capital, Washington, D.C.
What is clear now, however, is that despite where these weapons are currently deployed, if Putin continues to lose ground and troops in Ukraine at the hands of Western weapons, which seems likely, his desire to use these superweapons to punish us will only grow.
